WHAT IS "VIAL OF LIFE" ?

    Approximately ten years ago, a local boy scout took the initiative to being the "Vial Of Life" program throughout out town, a program that incredibly assist in performing care in the even of an emergency. We are looking to re-vitalize this project to ensure that all of our residents have the opportunity to participate.

    The Vial Of Life is a small cylinder that contains pertinent medical information. The information is then filled out by you and then store in your refrigerator. In the event of a medical emergency, the Vial will be given to emergency workers so that are able to ensure that you receive the best treatment possible. The Vial contains an emergency contact listing, preferred hospital, medical allergies, past medical history, and other pertinent medical information. The Vial Of Life system can only benefit the participants; and none of your medical history will be release for public viewing.

    The process of getting the Vial Of Life system for your household begins with you. You may contact the Watchung Rescue Squad at (908) 755-1297 or email the squad at info@watchungems.org. We would be glad to issue a Vial Of Life set for your household. Once the system is in your house, we will give you a sticker to be placed in visible site for emergency workers.
